No experience is required. We love sharing the joy of paddling with beginners! We teach you how to paddle and we’ll provide tips along the way if needed.

No age requirements at all. We recommend children under 12 years of age paddle in a tandem kayak with an adult.
-
Plenty of water, a snack, sunscreen, a towel for after the tour, and shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting wet. You may also want to consider a hat, sunglasses, insect repellent, a rain jacket if it might rain, and a dry bag.

Our guides do accept and greatly appreciate tips! Standard gratuity is usually 20%, but feel free to tip your guide more if you loved their tour!

Yes, we have tandem kayaks as well as single kayaks. If you include children 12 & under when making a reservation online we’ll automatically put the child in a tandem kayak with an adult. If your child has kayaking experience and you feel the child can paddle the entire tour on his/her own you can make a note in the “notes” section to request a single kayak for your child. We will do our best to accommodate your request.

We use Perception Tribe 11.5 & 13.5 kayaks for our tours and rentals. We buy new kayaks every year so you’ll have a nice new kayak that’s super comfortable. Perception Tribe kayaks are extremely stable and easy to get in and out of. The built-in seats feature extra padding and the backrests are adjustable for maximum comfort. We’re proud to use Perception kayaks that are rotational molded and hand assembled in the USA.
