Alligators call this refuge home along with rare, endangered wolves, and a variety of unique birds that are native to the island. Black Bears can sometimes be seen roaming or relaxing on land. It’s not unusual to see alligators in the water or lounging along the shore. While touring the Alligator River, discover the history of moonshiners in this area while paddling beneath grand bald cypress and loblolly pine trees.
