10am Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge Kayak Tour

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until October 19, 2019
This is our maximum adventure tour! Explore this unusual habitat and learn about its exotic wildlife. Alligators call this refuge home along with black bears and endangered red wolves. It’s not unusual to see alligators in the water or lounging along the shore. Discover the history of moonshiners in this area while paddling beneath grand bald cypress and loblolly pine trees. This is an unforgettable experience you don’t want to miss! This is an excellent tour suitable for beginner and experienced paddlers.

Alligator River Kayak Tour Driving Directions: Use Google Maps to: Buffalo City, NC. Take 64W and cross bridge to Roanoke Island. Stay straight and cross 2nd bridge, Virginia Dare Memorial Bridge. Continue 9.6 miles and look for a sign on the right for Buffalo City Rd. It will say: “Buffalo City Rd, Paddling Trails 2 miles”. Make the very next left (1/10 of a mile) onto Buffalo City Rd and continue approximately 2 miles to the end of this gravel road and you’ll see the put in. Please be sure to park on the right-hand side of the road.
